We trained 500 maths and science teachers in how to use the small boards in their teaching. Below are some photos and a bit of explanation as to how and why small boards are important in Cambodia.
HOWEVER ....
We got a contract extension to train another 250 maths and science teachers and EVERY first year maths/science teacher trainee in Cambodia. So this needed more boards.
SO ....
We evaluated the results, various people came and saw what was happening (some very important people came) and now the MINISTRY of EDUCATION YOUTH AND SPORTS are using the extension funding to pay for the next set of boards - the remaining 11,400.

The video below explains what we are trying to do.
It lasts for ten minutes, but if you can make it to the end, that's really appreciated.

A small whiteboard with a pen and an eraser is one of the simplest and most effective classroom resources available: every child has one so if the teachers use the boards properly, everyone can participate in the lessons.
We train maths and science teachers from disadvantaged schools in various teaching methods - including how to use the boards. At the end of the training, we give them each a class set of 40 boards. They are very pleased with this and our monitoring shows that they go back and use them. We use the monitoring to help the teachers to improve and also to work out how we can improve the training for next time.
In our schools, over the course of lower secondary education (grades 7-9), MORE THAN HALF of the children will leave education. Of the children who drop-out, the chances of getting them back in to education are virtually zero.
Please look at the other pages on this site to find out a little more about what we're doing and why. There is no obligation to help, but if you can give, all the money is spent on boards, we have no overheads here. If you are not able to give, please share the site address so we can make this happen.

Hope you can help to make this happen. We can improve education for children who deserve better.
